In this witty adventure for young audiences by MacArthur `genius’ award winner Naomi Wallace, a young girl called Noil finds herself in a strange new place, and must accomplish three and a half magical tasks before she can return home. Noil is clever and resourceful, and with some assistance from a singing narrator and a talking roach, she emerges from the hole in her sweater in time for breakfast.

The Apprentice Company is designed for young artists ages 7-17 wanting to take their interest in theatre arts to the next level, beyond class explorations. The students are cast in productions and create their characters through improvisation, vocal and physical exercises. They learn about collaborative elements required of theatre artists, including collaboration with directors and respect for props, costumes, sets, and lighting. The final aspect explored is that of the actor to audience - how to hold for laughter and how to include the audience response. The production/workshop culminates in performances for a paid audience. Here at 6th Street Playhouse students receive a deep, enriching, comprehensive theatrical experience while learning what an essential part theatre plays in our culture.
