A joyful, magical class kids (and parents) love!

Combine circus, costumes, singing and acting to create a magically playful after-school class to grow in confidence, communication and team building skills. In each class, students will creatively act out stories, play a world of imaginary characters, varying from modern popular dramas to international fables, in order to face heroic adventures, overcome mighty challenges and arrive at their own morals through improvised, colorful play. The class will end with a presentation open to friends and family.

Improv and Circus Theater | #432 (Ages 7-12)

Explore your wildest dreams!

At its heart, theater is playful, giving us a chance to explore our wildest dreams and craziest fantasies. In this class, you’ll learn how to express your imagination and use your heart, body, and mind to create scenes, monologues, and more. Going with the flow, saying “yes,” and having fun are the main goals in this light-hearted course. Class time will be chock-full of energetic theater games, and you’ll even get a chance to dabble in the circus arts, where joy is paramount. Last class with be a ‘shareformace’ presentation for family and friends.

Let’s Explore Shakespeare! | #434 (Ages 7-12)

A kid-friendly approach to Shakespeare!

Students will embark on a journey of one of the most magical pieces of literature ever written, The Tempest, by William Shakespeare, and learn about the life and times of the Bard of Avon himself. We will sail a ship lost at sea and discover an enchanted island with a mystical world of fairies, monsters, witches, and sorcery! Students will take part in this exploration by analyzing the original text, creating character sketches, reading and analyzing sonnets, through movement, improvisation and scene study. Students will explore an abridged, kid-friendly version of a Shakespeare play, culminating in a magical performance for friends and family!

Musical Theatre Songsters | #436 (Ages 7-12)

Can’t Stop Singing? Love to dance? Want to be onstage?

This class is designed for the beginning to intermediate student who has an interest in exploring and developing skills for musical theatre. You will learn group songs with featured solos from the Disney “Classics” and work with a choreographer. Instruction will include character development while singing, natural staging fundamentals with vocal basics of rhythm, volume, and harmony. You will also work with a choreographer. This is a fun class to learn musical fundamentals. Last class with be a ‘shareformace’ presentation for family and friends.

Intermediate Musical Theater Skills | #438 (Ages 7-12)

Ready to ‘move on up’?

Welcome to singing at “the next level” with Princess and Prince Disney songs! You’ve taken the Fundamentals of Musical Theater class and are ready for more. Or, maybe you’re already a natural with a good sense of pitch, rhythm and stage presence, and you love to sing songs from musicals. Come work with award-winning vocalist and composer Katie Ketchum to develop solid skills as both a musical theater chorus singer and as a soloist, with live piano accompaniment and individual coaching time every class. Emphasis will be on developing confidence on stage, performance skills, vocal technique, projection, dynamic levels, breathing, song interpretation and basics of choreography. Last class with be a ‘shareformace’ presentation for family and friends.

We understand that you may find a class is not what you expected, or that life circumstances may change after you enroll. If you choose to withdraw, you may submit written notification prior to the second class. A $35 processing fee will be applied to defer costs plus prorate for classes attended.  A check for the remaining balance will be sent in approximately two weeks  There will be no make-up classes or refunds for missed classes.
