GENERAL AUDITIONS for the 2008-09 season are scheduled to be held on May 4, 5, and 6, 2008

     
General auditions for 6th Street Playhouse's exciting 2008-2009 season will be held on May 4, 5, and 6, 2008. Eleven shows are scheduled to be presented in the GK Hardt Theater and The Studio during the upcoming season. (A complete list of shows, including plays and musicals, will be announced and posted on this website in April or May 2008.) Directors for the 2008-09 season of shows will be present at the auditions and may use this general audition to directly cast or extend invitations to callbacks for the 2008-09 season shows.  Therefore, even if you have auditioned for us in the past, please allow the directors - including some directors who are new to 6th Street Playhouse - to have the opportunity to see your current work. Actors’ Equity and non-AEA actors are welcome.

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to be seen, heard, and to perform. Last season’s general audition slots filled up very quickly. So reserve your slot now!

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO OBTAIN AN AUDITION SLOT AT THE 2008-09 GENERAL AUDITIONS

Individuals interested in obtaining an audition slot should send an email to Cheryl Itamura, Production Manager at  cheryl(at)6thStreetPlayhouse.com - NO LATER THAN APRIL 15, 2008, containing: name, address, city, state, ZIP, phone number, email address, & age (if under 18 years old). Be sure to type "GENERAL AUDITIONS 2008-09" in the subject line of your email. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
     
If audition slots are still available, interested individuals will be contacted on or before April 20, 2008 with the date and time of their assigned audition slot. Individuals who obtain an audition slot should plan to:

(1) arrive 15 minutes early at the GK Hardt Theater inside the 6th Street Playhouse located at 52 W. 6th Street, Santa Rosa, CA, 95401.

(2) bring a current headshot AND resume to the audition. (Be sure your name is on the back AND front of your headshot.)

(3) perform a 1 minute monologue AND 16 bars of a song, OR perform 2 monologues not to exceed a total of 3 minutes in length. (If you are singing, bring your sheet music. An accompanist will be available.)

If audition slots are not available, interested individuals will be asked to send a headshot and resume via US Mail to the 6th St. Playhouse for the casting files.

INFORMATION FOR YOUTH ACTORS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE

The 6th Street Playhouse’s School of Drama provides wonderful opportunities for acting students of all ages (including adults) through its classes, workshops and main stage productions. Please contact Holly Vinson, Education Director at holly@6thStreetPlayhouse for more information about this program.

Occasionally, a limited number of roles for youth under the age of 18 may be available during our regular season. If shows for the 2008-09 season have roles suitable for youth, we may extend the General Auditions to include youth, or callback youth students from the School of Drama.
