Summer Production Workshop

Framed by a theatrical and musical celebration of Americana, this Tony award-winning musical follows the adventures of Huck Finn and his friend Jim as they search for the promise of freedom along the Mississippi River.

This production of “Big River” marks the first time that the 6th Street Playhouse School of Drama has presented a stand-alone youth summer musical theater production. Students have received training in acting, dance and music during a month-long rehearsal and training program, which culminates in this production featuring live music, musical direction and professionally designed sets, lighting and costumes.
