Reviews
"Sixth Street nails 'Cabaret' ...powerful new production...director David Lear puts as much energy into establishing a feeling of looming evil as he does into staging...energetic choreography by Tony Gianchetta...Lear and company leave one a final emotional kick in the gut..a kick some won't stop feeling for some time after. " (David Templeton - The Bohemian, Member SFBATCC )
"...brave and edgy...actors are strikingly costumed by Tracy Hinman Sigrist...Each actor used his or her singing, dancing, and stage presence to develop a unique take on the characters....choreography and bumps-and-grinds were executed through the talents of Tony Gianchetta." (Cari Lynn Pace - Marinscope Newspapers, Member SFBATCC )
"Visually, the production was a huge success.....The complete cast deserves special recognition...go see this show and enjoy a fresh, funny, warm, sad and yes, sexy musical." (Paul Webb - Neighborhood Now)
"In the capable hands of ...6th Street Playhouse...director David Lear, 'Cabaret' explodes the boundaries of both stage and performance in an electrifying new vision of the celebrated musical...an ambitious “Cabaret” with a dark twist, envelope-pushing at its best, risky and risqué." (Greg & Suzanne Angeo - For All Events)
"...fun, creative and sensual...this work skillfully reflects the political and social turbulence." (Mario Echevarria - SF Tribune, Member SFBATCC)
