The Chairs
A "tragic farce" by Eugene Ionesco
Directed and designed by David Lear
This hilarious, timeless farce features an elderly couple who lives on an island. They host an event to which invisible guests are invited and entertained by the old man's wisdom. The Chairs filled Broadway's Golden Theater with wall-to-wall laughter during Simon McBurney's 1997 revival, garnering six Tony Award nominations.
Two of the areas finest veteran actors, Eliot Fintushel and Elizabeth Fuller join 6th Street Playhouse for the first time.
The Chairs replaces Frozen as the last show of the 6th Street Playhouse Studio season.
There will not be a performance on Easter, April 4, 2010.
