RENT is an American musical based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La Boheme. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of AIDS. The phenomenon of RENT, its timeliness coupled with its ground breaking theatricality, has been compared to the musical HAIR when it first appeared on Broadway in 1968.

Stephanie St. James returns to Santa Rosa

Stephanie, best known for her role as Squeak in Oprah Winfrey Presents "The Color Purple", returns to her hometown to star as Mimi.
