A unique exploration of the principles and practices of physical comedy through improvisation, clown, and script writing. The class includes discussion, graduated sequences of games to investigate how comedy works, inspired by master teacher John Wright (UK). Topics explored include: states of tension, rhythm, timing and more! We will also teach beginners juggling, sock poi. The results are invaluable for students! Come one, come all.

Saturdays 1:00PM – 3:00PM June 16 – Aug 4 (8 weeks) Rehearsal Hall
This is a course in fundamentals for passionate young actors. Through class exercises and scene work, students will free themselves of inhibitions, explore the dramatic arc, define intentions, learn text analysis, and increase physical and vocal range. Students will also be exposed to classic and cutting edge contemporary playwrights. The final class meeting on August 4 will be a showcase of scenes and monologues for parents and friends.

Mondays 4:30PM – 5:30PM June 11- July 30 (8 Weeks) in the Studio Theatre
Being a teen can be tough, but it can also be fun, exhilarating and one of the most creative and free times of our lives. It is a time when we are creating new memories, beliefs and sense of self. This class will give each participant the possibility to explore parts of their potential in expression that are not always easy to explore in the big wide world. We will be playing with improvisation, exploring different characters through scripts, scene writing, monologue work and circus arts including juggling and acrobalance.

This time in history is like no other, our youth are truly finding their voice and needing to speak their truth. In this two week workshop, students will be playing with finding their true voice. Using a variety of drama games and theater techniques, they will work on telling and writing their stories. Whether it’s choosing a specific memory or writing about what is real and alive for them, this class will give each student the opportunity to express themselves and tell their story in a variety of modalities. Monday - Friday, 2-hour tour TBA between 10:00 am and 2 pm.
This tour is designed to give a special peak 'behind the curtain'. Your tour guide will also share exciting facts and stories touching on major developments of theatre from Greek to Modern. You will visit our two theatre spaces, costume shop, scene shop, dressing rooms, light and sound booth, and end up onstage with a 20-minute theatre improv experience.
Tuition: $300.00 (Maximum of 30 students)

Time and day: 2 to 3 hours of instruction TBA between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm at 6th Street Playhouse or your classroom
