Jessica Short Headington has a BFA in Acting from Stephens College and has been studying theatre since age ten. Her recent roles at 6th Street include Henrietta Leavitt inSilent Sky, the Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol, Maureen Folan in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and Ivy in August: Osage County. Elsewhere in Sonoma County, Jess played Dawn in Lobby Hero at Sonoma Stage Works and Agnes White in Bug at Narrow Way Stage Company. She is currently working as a company member with the Chalkboard Players, an improvisational children's theatre group. During her undergraduate years, she was the Artistic Director and Dramaturge of the Warehouse Theatre on the Stephens College campus and a company member at the Okoboji Summer Theatre in Spirit Lake, IA. Jess loves teaching almost as much as she loves acting. She has taught reading, piano lessons and African dance. Her movement study has included Alexander technique, pilates, and yoga. She has sung with many choirs, including 5 years with the Valley of the Moon Chamber Ensemble in Sonoma. When she's not at the theatre, Jess enjoys spending time her husband Billy and her sweet dog, Sophie.
