With a puppetmaker for a mother and a carpenter for a grandfather (who made puppet theaters among other interesting things), Cheryl's earliest production and stage managing gigs included custom made and store bought puppets as cast members, some old socks used as supernumeraries, friends and relatives as crew members, and audiences that consisted of neighborhood kids and parents with a few stuffed animals to round out the audience.

Many shows, concerts and events, and several years later Cheryl is pleased that, as the Production Manager for 6th Street Playhouse, she now works with real live people who walk, talk, dance and sing all on their own -- without having to have someone's hand stuck up their backside.
